Language School
The Hollywood Japanese Language School (Hollywood Gakuen) was established in 1915 to teach Japanese to elementary school children. Since then, Japanese has been taught as a foreign language to all students who wish to attend Hollywood Gakuen regardless of race or religion. Japanese culture, customs, etc. are also taught in the classroom in order to guide the students' better understanding of Japan.
At present, the newly expanded school continues its commitment to Japanese language education by offering conversational Japanese classes for adults in addition to elementary, junior and senior high school classes in which preparation for the foreign language credit test is included in the curriculum.
*All classes are taught by experienced native Japanese speakers.
* Non-Japanese speaking students are welcome at any age.
